Atlantis Set to Launch on this Thursday (09/06-2006)

The newest Space Shuttle mission - STS 115 on SS Atlantis, is set to launch on Thursday, (09/06-16.29 GMT/23.29 WIB). This is the second mission after the long postponed Space Shuttle Missions due to Columbia's disaster back in 2003. While only announced as 80% possibility, but Kennedy Space Center expects an optimum daylight launch condition to observe and evaluate how modifications to the shuttle external tank affect a series of ice frost ramps that are covered in foam insulation.

The primary mission of Atlantis is the International Space Station (ISS). After a series of delayed missions, the construction of the ISS and the orbital lab inside are very much behind schedule. So this mission is very important in continuing the construction.

Clear skies and smooth ride, captain!
